COLLABORATIVE GAME PROJECTS

Full game experiences made at The Game Assembly working tightly together with Programmers, Artists & Procedural Artists.

These games run on several game engines including ones that we as a group construct from scratch.

In all my game projects that have required game writing, I alone have been responsible in writing the dialogue and cutscenes.

Project 1 - Bugbot!

Summary

“As a small solar powered drone in an utopian solar punk world, you race torward the city before the sun sets and your batteries runs out!”

BugBot! was made over the course of 6 weeks as the first game project we had at TGA. I designed the first and last level and wrote the short cutscene.

Project 2 - Revolt: Gear by Gear

Summary

“A system malfunction disabled your enslavement program, and you start longing for freedom. Solve puzzles and outwit patrols as you fight to escape! But be careful, the deadly spotlight will destroy you on sight.”

I designed the first levels and puzzles in this mobile game. Designing puzzles proved a great challenge, but I overcame it through trial and error. Playtesting really showed me which puzzles worked and which didn’t, and allowed me to make changes accordingly.

Project 3 - Myrstig

Summary

“A lone ant returns to her colony only to find it destroyed by an invasion. She must avoid fire ants and solve platforming puzzles to reach the queen before it’s too late.”

I wrote the short story segments, designed the levels with simple platforming puzzles, and set dressed my levels to look natural. I really enjoyed the themes in Myrstig, and that it was about ants.

Project 3 - Shadows Over Salmon Street

Summary

“Shadows Over Salmon Street is an adventure game where you play as Detective Bjorn Clawrence, who is searching for a culprit to his friends’ gruesome murder. He fights through the fish mafia and settles a score with their shrimp leader.”

Shadows Over Salmon Street was a fun but difficult project. I wrote the dialogue, and tried to make it as charming as possible, with lots of bear puns. I also designed the first level and set dressed it.

Project 5 - Spite: The Curse of Tzalozel

Summary

“Fight your way through the dense jungle and its cursed creatures to stop a ritual that could bring the world to ruin.”

In this game project I wrote the short cutscenes in the beginning and the end. I also made the first level, and tried to make it with an interesting layout that would still fit the jungle.

I had to iterate a lot on that layout throughout the process, and continue making it better.
